Tor Browser Bundle for Windows 1.3.7 Released

On July 4th, we released Tor Browser Bundle 1.3.7 for Microsoft Windows. This is merely a security update release for Firefox and Pidgin. You can download this at https://torproject.org/torbrowser.

The only changes are:

  • update to Firefox 3.5.10 to fix some security issues
  • update to Pidgin 2.7.1r2 to fix some security issues

Tor Browser Bundle 1.3.1 Released

The latest in the Tor Browser series, version 1.3.1 is released. This includes updates to Firefox, Pidgin, and Tor.

Tor 0.2.1.22 rotates two of the seven v3 directory authority keys and
locations, due to a security breach of some of the Torproject servers:

It also fixes a privacy problem in bridge directory authorities -- it
would tell you its whole history of bridge descriptors if you make the
right directory request.

Tor Browser Bundle 1.3.0 Released

On December 31, 2009, I released the latest in the Tor Browser Bundle series, 1.3.0. The version bump from 1.2.10 to 1.3.0 is due to the change to Firefox 3.5.6 (from Firefox 3.0.15).

Torbutton 1.2.4 fixes a number of privacy and anonymity issues with the Firefox 3.5.x code base.

Tor Browser Bundle 1.2.2 Released

Tor Browser Bundle 1.2.2 is now available. The only change is an update to Pidgin to version 2.5.7. The Pidgin changelog has more information.

Tor Browser Bundle 1.2.1 Released

Tor Browser Bundle 1.2.1 is released. The major changes are:

  • changes to Firefox to stop scanning for plugins such as Java, Windows Media, etc. These were disabled by torbutton, but still showed up in Firefox. More work will continue on this task
  • Include OpenSSL dll (ssleay32.dll) so we're not relying upon the system ssl dll. This should fix Vidalia errors relating to ssl differences.

  • Update Pidgin to 2.5.6r2
  • Update Firefox to 3.0.11
  • Include OpenSSL 0.9.8k DLL and stop using the system ssl dll
