We are very excited to present you Tails 6.0, the first version of Tails based on Debian 12 (Bookworm) and GNOME 43. Tails 6.0 brings new versions of most of the software included in Tails as well as several important security and usability improvements.
You can now close a given Tor circuit from the Onion Circuits interface. Also: Tor Browser 13.0.1, Thunderbird 115, and bonus goodies for SecureDrop.
It's a major version with a new backup feature in Tails Installer, automatic upgrade of the Persistent Storage to LUKS2, and captive portal detection.
Tails 5.13 upgrades to LUKS2, for stronger cryptography. It also includes curl, an HTTP utlity.
Tails 5.10 is out. It fixes small issues in the Persistent Storage and Upgrader.
Tails 5.8 is the most important release of Tails in years. It includes both major redesign of existing features, important usability improvements, and hardened security.
This release fixes security vulnerabilities in Tor Browser.
Tails 5.0, the first version of Tails based on DebianĀ 11 (Bullseye), is out. It brings new versions of a lot of the software included in Tails and new OpenPGP tools.
