Any chance you can link to where to download these puppies when you do these blog posts... would just save a few clicks, thanks.

We're using the linux torbrowser bundle as a beta for updates to the windows bundle. If the linux package works with respect to firefox and plugins, we'll update the windows bundle to the same set of software.

I am wiondering there are a lot of requests from all around the world asking why the startup service stops at "Establishing an encypted directory connection" Step. I didn't found any clear and resonablen answer. i am one of them. my time setting is correct. it's not about time settings.

If I can use Tor, anyone can use Tor - I'm nearly 66 and though it's taken quite a bit of tinkering, I've finally managed to get it to work perfectly! I needed to tweak my own system and my Firefox, but once I got rid of No Script, things improved hugely! (I've got a new Mac Mini.)

I haven't got enough bandwidth or IT knowledge to help out much, but I'd like to thank all the kind people (here and elsewhere) who generously contribute time and expertise for the public good!

I tried tbb 1.1.3 for linux and there`s something which confuses me: In the torbutton settings, as well as in firefox settings, http-proxy and the fields below are blank. The only setting there is SOCKS 127.0.0.1 port 9050.

Why is that? There used to be localhost port 8118 for http before, please answer because i need this thing working, really

Can I just install on top of my old TBB folder? I want to keep addons and settings as well as my bookmarks.

I have the same problem with tor hanging while establishing an encrypted directory connection in vidalia. It fails 80% of the time in arm as well. I am running linux mint debian upgraded to mint's version of testing. This same thing happens running crunchbang statler/squeeze. For reasons i won't go into, I really need TOR. This is a massive FAIL!

I had the same problem on Windows Vista (Tor would hang when establishing an encrypted connection), but I resolved it by running Tor as an administrator (Right click -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run this program as an administrator). Hope this helps some of you out.
